Who we are

What information we collect

• -Email address: Collected when you enter it on the results page, create an account, or complete a purchase. Used to deliver your itinerary, confirm payment, and send occasional travel content (unsubscribe anytime).
• -Travel preferences: Your form answers (destination, budget, duration, vibe, etc.) are used solely to generate your trip ideas and itinerary. Not sold or shared.
• -Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number or CVV.
• -Account data: If you create an account via Clerk, we store your name, email, and the itineraries linked to your account.
• -Location (mobile app): If you use the Vagaplan app and grant permission, your device location is used only on your phone to show how far you are from a site. It is never stored on our servers or shared, and the app works fully without it.
• -Usage data: Anonymous product events on both the website and the app: page/screen views, app opens, questionnaire steps, paywall views, purchase clicks, creator-link visits, referral source, and UTM campaign labels. We use a random browser/app ID to understand where people drop off. We do NOT record your screen or session, do not capture your clicks or typing beyond the named steps above, do not store IP addresses in analytics, and do not use fingerprinting, Meta Pixel, Google ad tags, or cross-site ad tracking.

How we use your information

• -To generate and deliver your AI travel itinerary

• -To send transactional emails (payment confirmation, itinerary delivery)
• -To send occasional travel content from The Bearded Vagabond - unsubscribe anytime
• -To understand anonymous product usage, retention, funnel drop-off, and creator/referral performance
• -To improve the service

Third-party services

We use the following services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• -Stripe: Payment processing
• -Clerk: User authentication and account management
• -Brevo: Transactional and marketing email delivery
• -Upstash (Redis): Storage for itineraries, credits, account data, and first-party analytics
• -Anthropic (Claude API): AI itinerary generation - your travel preferences are sent to Claude to produce your trip plan
• -First-party analytics: Anonymous event counters and a capped 90-day event history stored in Upstash Redis for funnel, retention, source, page/app, and creator-link reporting

Data retention

Itinerary data is stored for up to 90 days after generation. First-party analytics event history is capped and retained for up to 90 days; aggregate counters may remain longer in anonymous form. Email addresses and account data are retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing vagaplanapp@gmail.com.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To unsubscribe from marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

Deleting your account: in the Vagaplan app, go to Settings - Delete account to permanently delete your account and unlink your data immediately. On the web, or to request deletion any other way, email vagaplanapp@gmail.com and we'll remove your account and associated data.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies and local storage for session cookies required for authentication (Clerk), an anonymous first-party analytics ID, and creator referral attribution. We do not use advertising tracking cookies. Creator links may set a first-party referral cookie so we can credit a creator if you later buy tokens or a membership. Affiliate partners (Expedia, DiscoverCars, Booking.com, GetYourGuide, etc.) may set their own cookies when you click their links.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
